A great Account Manager should be an excellent communicator, be organised, persuasive, knowledgeable and adaptable. Good teeth are just a bonus. Not necessarily, no. You may be able to secure an entry level Account Executive role without specific account management experience. But you must be able to demonstrate the 5 golden traits mentioned above in a previous role and it also helps if you have some experience of the sectors you’ll be working with. This could be anything from retail to finance, education to business services.
